Helen Grace is a main character in The Spiderwick Chronicles. In the television series, they are portrayed by Joy Bryant. In the film, she is portrayed by Mary-Louise Parker.

She is originally from New York City, New York, and is currently living at the Spiderwick Estate on Ducal Drive.
Little is known about Helen's early childhood. Her mother was Melvina (the Grace children's grandmother) and was the niece of Lucinda Spiderwick. She might have a brother named Terrence too. At some point she met Richard Grace and had Jared, Simon and little Mallory followed later. When she and Richard divorced, she went to live with her children at Aunt Lucinda's (hospitalized at the time) old home, the Spiderwick Estate.
She is a character in this story that does not believe the children when they say things are a mess because of the boggart.
Film[]
Helen inherits the Spiderwick estate after her divorce. She initially disbelieves Jared's claims about magical creatures but eventually comes to believe him after witnessing the goblin attack. Helen reconciles with Jared after Mulgarath's defeat.
TV Series[]
Helen seeks mental health treatment for Jared's troubles. She experiences various challenges after relocating to the Spiderwick estate, including dealing with unexplained incidents and her sister Lucinda's apparent psychiatric breakdown. Helen defends "Dr Brauer" when he is assaulted and learns about the history of Meskawki Hospital. She aids in defeating Mulgarath by stockpiling milk for the dragons and eventually helps her family escape from his clutches.
